I was a little lucky my friend recently got married which means I could take some of her leftovers like bubbles and a cute wire birdcage for holding gift cards! some of you may not be as lucky as that but there are still other ways you can save money!
Also consider making your bridesmaids their jewelry to wear for the ceremony. It can be much cheaper to make it than to buy it. for example I wanted my bridesmaids to wear pearls. I really would rather not spend money on jewelry since Im getting them a separate gift other than jewelry so I went to michaels and bought stretchy cord and a pack of pearl beads. I made one for myself and they are so cute!

Planning Books
I have come to realize that a lot of wedding planning books/binders etc have more than you need. So, instead of paying the price for this just go buy a regular notebook or journal. This is what I did. I take it with me everywhere I go..to the florist to my venue everywhere and I take notes in it. I also use it to paste pictures in that I like so that i can then use them to show a florist photographer or whoever. It is very personalized and helpful to have every you need in one spot and nothing that you don't need. It is also a great keepsake after the wedding is over!

To buy or to rent?
Sometimes it can be better to buy items for your wedding even if you can rent them. For example, I have been checking linen prices lately. Chair covers go for about $3 plus for ONE chair cover. When you have 100 people like I do that can get expensive really fast! Thank goodness though my awesome mom found chair covers on craigslist from a couple who were recently married. They sold us their chair covers for 2.50 per cover. We save .50 per cover just by buying them instead of renting. That's a 50 dollar savings! It gets even better though! After the wedding is over we can resale the covers instead of just giving them back to the rental company. It's almost like getting free chair covers in the end!

Shopping tip
As a DIY bride I spend lot of time in craft stores. Something I always make sure to do before I go shopping is to look for coupons on the internet. Michael's often have 40 % off a single item or 15-20% off your entire purchase. These savings really add up!

Cute confetti idea
Confetti for weddings can get expensive depending on how you use it, how many tables you have etc. After I got engaged I bought every bridal magazine on the shelf just about. After I looked at them 10 times and cut out the pictures I wanted to keep there was nothing left to do with them until one day I got the idea to make confetti out of the pages. I bought a heart shaped hole punch from a craft store and began making my own confetti from the magazine pages. There are tons of shapes to chose from like flowers diamonds stars etc. Everyone loved this super cute creative idea and it was inexpensive. You can also use other things laying around the house it doesn't have to be bridal magazines. Think scrapbook paper pieces, newspapers, or business cards lying around.
Good luck getting creative!
